Rescued C2 Barn Find Awaits Full Restoration
The possibilities here are endless.
Fine Opportunity
For every finely restored, Concours-quality Corvette out there in the world, there are many more that aren’t exactly in the greatest condition. Regardless, this presents prospective buyers with a great opportunity – a bit of cost savings upfront, as well as the ability to do whatever you see fit with that poor old neglected sports car. And that’s precisely the case with this 1965 Corvette that recently went up for grabs at eBay.

Giving Up
This old C2 has been off the road since 1988, and it certainly looks that way. The paint has long since faded away, though part of that can be attributed to the seller, who purchased the car two years ago and started working on it, only to reach this point and essentially give up.

Needs Work
The seller removed the body from the frame and redid the latter before reinstalling the panels and inevitably calling it a day after that. The body has seen quite a few repairs over the years as well, and obviously needs a good bit of work to finish, but that’s also true of the car in general.

Solid Base
Regardless, the C2 still presents a pretty solid opportunity for those with the means and the skills to bring it back to life. The seller states that the frame, birdcage, and windshield frame are in good shape, and the original VIN and trim tag are present and accounted for.

Missing Drivetrain
The biggest problem, aside from the bodywork that needs to take place, is the fact that the car is missing its engine and transmission, however. Regardless, while that obviously hurts its value, this also opens a world of possibilities for those that might want to transform it into a restomod anyway.

Big High
Regardless, it seems as if the seller was a bit too ambitious with his starting bid of $28,500, as no one bothered to try and purchase it for that amount of money. In all fairness, that is a bit high even for a C2, particularly one that needs so much work. But if the seller is willing to come down a little, we have no doubt that someone will pounce at the opportunity.
