You won’t have to experience its sheer power in silence though, as the Ioniq 6 Electrified Streamliner is equipped with the firm’s E-ASD (Electronic Active Sound Design) which is said to sound very space-ship-esque – fitting for a car on the brink of the age of tomorrow.

Its charging capabilities are also an impressive and noteworthy attribute. The Ioniq 6 possess a 400 V/800 V multi-charging infrastructure, resulting in the ability to go from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes using a 350 kW charger.

Visually leaning towards a Porsche’s physique, the Ioniq 6 is a sleeker addition to Hyundai’s electric family compared to the larger Ioniq 5. “The distinctive streamlined design is the result of close cooperation between engineers and designers, with obsessive attention to detail and customer-centric values at the core. We have created the IONIQ 6 as a mindful cocoon that offers personalized place for all.” — SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center.

The exterior is extremely pleasing to the eye and the interior adds to that effect. In front of the pilot’s seat is a 12-inch infotainment screen alongside another 12-inch digital cluster. Cabin lighting — for which there are 64 colour options— beautifully contrasts with the white leather seats. An optional feature is the “Relaxation Comfort Seats” which are 30% thinner than the ICE counterparts and aid in improving space for passengers.
Production of the Ioniq 6 Electrified Streamliner begins in the third quarter of 2022.
