Nio has showcased its suite of EVs at a show in Europe. These included the standard Nio EV range along with a supercar concept.
Models on show at the Swedish EV expo, the eCarExpo, included the ET5, EL7, ET7 and EP9 supercar. The event was held in December and covered electric cars and sustainability trends in Europe.
The EP9 supercar was bought to the show to highlight the performance focus of Nio in the company’s products.

This supercar has broken several existing Electric Vehicle record at Nürburgring back when it was tested back in 2016. With a lap time of 7:05.12, it was the fastest electric car to ever lap the famous race track.
The showcase at the eCarExpo in Sweden comes after the brand launched its range of electric cars across multiple markets on the continent.
As part of the show, Nio invited new customers to test drive the ET7 sedan. According to the company, the customers had overall positive impressions of the test drive and provided valuable feedback.

The Nio ET7 has just won Auto Motor & Sport Sverige‘s 2022 Car of the Year award. This award usually goes to European premium luxury brands so for Nio to just launch in Europe and win it is a big achievement for the company.
In China, the brand claims to have it’s ET7 with a 1,000 km range variant equipped with a 150 kWh battery pack. In Europe, the WLTP range with a 75 kWh battery pack is around 445 km.
Part of the launch in Europe has involved the rolling out of Nio’s battery swap stations. At these stations, Nio EVs can swap a depleted battery with a fully charged one in under seven minutes. Last month, Nio opened its first battery swap station site in Sweden.

Nio is also opening up experience centres in Sweden. It opened its first experience centre earlier this month at Stockholm’s Westfield Täby Mall Centrum.
This is progress for an electric car company with a multi-continent launch plan. In 2023, according to Nio’s founder, William Li, a more affordable brand is also on the cards along with the launch of several new models for the global market.
We hope to see newer electric car brands bring right-hand drive vehicles to the Australian market over the coming years. The more options Australian customers have, the better it would be for EV adoption.
