Nice, High-Mile C3 Convertible Is An Original Beauty
This 1972 Corvette was one of the last ones built before things went south, at least in terms of power.
One of the Last
Like everything else in life, the Corvette has experienced its fair share of ups and downs. After a rough start that saw the sports car nearly wind up extinct, the Corvette came back strong until the early 1970s, when the entire automotive industry was quite literally choked by smog equipment. However, this 1972 Corvette convertible that recently crossed the block at eBay is one of the last good ones before things went south.

Driver’s Car
There are a lot of things to like about this C3, starting with the fact that it’s a chrome bumper model that’s in very solid shape. With a little over 100k miles on the clock, it’s also a driver, and has some flaws in the paint, as well as touch-up sports, but we certainly don’t view that as a bad thing.

Worry Free
In fact, that just makes us want to drive it even more, because we can tool around, wind in our hair, soaking up the sun without having to worry about pickup up rock chips or scratches along the way. That’s certainly not something you can do with a Concours-quality restoration or restomod, of course.

Solid Cabin
The interior is also in solid condition with a little wear showing in both seats, but no major flaws like cracks in the dashboard. There are a few nice options here as well, including a tilt steering wheel, power steering, and power brakes, while everything reportedly works as well.

Underpowered
The biggest knock against this ’72 is that it isn’t powered by some high-horsepower big block or even small block. Rather, it’s packing GM’s venerable 350 V8, which in this guise cranks out a model 200 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, as it was the base offering. Backed up by an automatic transmission, this Corvette won’t be winning any drag races, but it’ll look good trying, at least.

Reasonably Priced
Of course, that isn’t the point, as this modest C3 is more about enjoying yourself while you cruise around, as well as looking good while you’re doing it. As such, the selling price for this particular car – $18,900 – seems quite reasonable, as that’s a small price to pay for something you can drive and enjoy for years to come.
