Maruti Suzuki has received 22,000 orders for the strong-hybrid variants.
Maruti Suzuki is said to have received over 53,000 bookings for the Grand Vitara. Bookings for the mid-size SUV opened on July 11 and the car will be officially launched this month.
The Grand Vitara is available with two engine options. These include the familiar 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine that makes 103 BHP and 137 Nm and a 1.5-litre strong-hybrid producing 115 BHP and 122 Nm, paired with a 78 BHP electric motor.
While the percentage of bookings for the mild-hybrid variant remains high, the carmaker has received 22,000 orders for the strong-hybrid variants.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be positioned in the mid-size SUV segment and will take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It will be accompanied by the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
