The Lynk & Co 01 is now available in Germany, Sweden, and several other key European markets, and will soon be available in the UK. Here are all the details about the electrified SUV:

Lynk & Co 01 Specifications

The Lynk & Co 01 is a compact SUV like the Volvo XC40, and it offers electrification as standard. European customers get a selection of two variants: hybrid and plug-in hybrid. Both variants use a 1.5-litre petrol engine, but the hybrid gets it with MPI, while the plug-in hybrid gets it with GDI.

The power and torque of the engine are different because of the different fuel injection methods. The same engine produces 106 kW (144 PS/142 bhp) and 215 Nm of torque in the Lynk & Co 01 hybrid and 132 kW (180 PS/177 bhp) and 265 Nm in the Lynk & Co 01 plug-in hybrid. The electric motor’s tuning states are different, set at 40 kW/130 Nm in the hybrid variant and 60 kW/160 Nm in the plug-in hybrid variant.

Together, the engine and e-motor deliver a combined power of 145 kW (197 PS/194 hp) in the hybrid variant and 192 kW (261 PS/257 hp) in the plug-in hybrid variant. The HEV can accelerate from 0-62 mph in nine seconds, while the PHEV can accomplish the same one second quicker (eight seconds). The HEV maxes out at 190 km/h (118 mph), while the PHEV can keep accelerating till 210 km/h (130 mph).

The Lynk & Co 01 hybrid has a 0.7 kWh (net)/1.8 kWh (gross) lithium-ion battery pack, while the Lynk & Co 01 plug-in hybrid has a bigger, rechargeable 14.1 kWh (net)/17.6 kWh (gross) lithium-ion battery pack. The HEV has a higher CO2 emissions rating (WLTP) of 150 g/km (WLTP), while the PHEV’s CO2 emissions rating (WLTP) is significantly less – 27 g/km. The fuel consumption ratings (WLTP) in the same order are 6.6 L/100 km and 1.2 L/100 km. The PHEV provides an electric driving range (WLTP) of 69 km (43 miles), and charging its battery pack using a regular charger that works with 230V alternating current takes five hours.

On the outside, the Lynk & Co 01 features LED headlights, an active upper grille, 18- or 20-inch alloy wheels, dual tailpipes, an electric tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof. 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, journey cameras (social camera and dashcam), 12.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital key, wireless smartphone charger, and 10-speaker Infinity sound system are among the interior highlights.

The Lynk & Co 01 allows owners to control, monitor, and share it from a smartphone app. Owners can generate income by sharing it with other Lynk & Co members want to borrow a 01. The compact SUV uses IoT network and infrastructure from Orange Business Services for its connected vehicle services.

On the safety front, there’s a long list of driver assistance systems, including HWA (Highway Assist), TJA (Traffic Jam Assist), RCTA (Rear Cross Traffic Alert), LKA (Lane Keeping Aid), LDW (Lane Departure Warning), LCA (Lane Change Assist), TSR (Traffic Sign Recognition), and more.

Lynk & Co 01 price

In Germany, the Lynk & Co 01 is available in the plug-in hybrid variant for a purchase price of EUR 46,000 or a subscription fee of EUR 550/month.

Like in the main European markets, Lynk & Co may offer multiple ownership options for the 01 in the UK. In addition to purchasing the car, the company will likely allow customers to subscribe to it on a month-to-month basis and borrow it from other owners. Business customers will likely be able to subscribe to it on a month-to-month or long-term basis in addition to buying it outright.

Lynk & Co club membership is popular among Lynk & Co’s European customers, and that’s piqued the interest of the company more than sales figures, as per a report Auto Express published on June 15, 2022. Around 95% of these membership holders in Europe, which is more than 120,000 people, have subscribed to the 01 on a monthly basis for a recurring fee of EUR 550.

The membership includes much more than the vehicle, insurance, breakdown recovery, and tax costs. Subscribers can get complimentary entry at Lynk & Co clubs and access live music events, film screenings, and DJ sets hosted there. Plus, they can reduce their monthly fee by sharing their vehicle with other Lynk & Co members. The owners themselves set the subscription price for lending their vehicles to others.

Lynk & Co 01 E-Motive

The 01 E-Motive is an upgraded version of the SUV, and Lynk & Co has introduced it first in China, as per a report from carnewschina.com. The updated model features new tail lamps that are wider and more technical-looking, with a double-dash pattern covering most of the width. There’s a new nomenclature in place, with the hybrid variant getting the ‘EM-F’ suffix and the plug-in hybrid variant taking on the ‘EM-P’ suffix.

Both Lynk & Co 01 EM-F and Lynk & Co 01 EM-P use a 110 kW (147 hp) 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine and a three-speed hybrid electric drive ‘DHT Pro’ gearbox. The hybrid variant offers pure electric driving at speeds below 20 km/h (12 mph) and combined (gasoline + electric) driving at 80-120 km/h (50-75 mph). The plug-in hybrid variant is available in standard, long-range, and ultra-long-range configurations, which have a pure electric range of 60 km (37 miles), 100 km (62 miles), and 150 km (93 miles), respectively.

Lynk & Co UK launch

Citing Alain Visser, CEO, Lynk & Co International, the Auto Express report said that the Lynk & Co UK launch will take place in 2023. Visser suggested that, unlike other European countries, the UK would get “a fully electrified vehicle” as the first Lynk & Co model in the country. The EV will likely be the brand’s second model in the Old Continent, where, Visser told the British publication in 2021, that there shouldn’t be more than three vehicles in the line-up at any point.
