Italian “ultra-premium” electric automotive brand Aehra has unveiled its new all-electric sedan, a sleek one-box design with sweeping front and rear and a target range of 800 kilometres.
Founded in 2020, Aehra is not a name that is going to ring bells for many people, and the company has only made headlines once before with the unveiling last year of its first car, an electric SUV.
The Aehra Sedan was teased late May and properly unveiled on Friday at the Milano Monza Motor Show. Production of both the Aehra Sedan and SUV will begin in 2026 with deliveries expected for the same year, and will both be priced somewhere in the €160,000 to €180,000 range.
The Aehra Sedan and SUV are built on the same “EV architecture and mono-body principles” and will boast a top speed of 265km/h and a range of over 800 kilometres – though it is uncertain what testing method has been used to arrive at that figure.
The design of the Sedan will certainly catch peoples’ attention, but this should be no surprise considering that the head designer for Aehra, Filippo Perini, was a long-time designer at Lamborghini and was responsible for the Aventador, Huracan, and Urus.
First deliveries are expected to be made in key markets including the United States, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Aehra is planning to open pre-orders in 2024, while Aehra Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO Hazim Nada has said that full-scale production is expected to be reached by late 2027.
Little else is known about the Sedan with no specific powertrain details yet revealed, and only hints that the aerodynamic design of the car will play an integral role in the on-road efficiency of the car.
All four doors of both the Sedan and SUV are so-called falcon doors, and a full-dashboard-width Human Machine Interface (HMI) screen can be extended upwards when the vehicle is parked to transform the interior into a home theatre or office environment.
“Taking visual inspiration from classic Italian design principles and the world of nature, the new Aehra Sedan is based on the same industry-leading EV architecture and mono-body principles of the Aehra SUV,” said Filippo Perini, Aehra head of design.
“It utilizes advanced global engineering and pioneering recyclable carbon fibre composite material to deliver an all-electric driving experience quite unlike anything on the road today.”
