Here are Some Exotic Machines the New Z06 Can Outrun
It may not be cheap, but the C8 Z06 is still a performance bargain compared to the competition.
Z Is for Fast
It’s no secret that the 2023 Corvette Z06 is going to be a performer, mostly thanks to its 670 horsepower heart and fantastic chassis. But while many were outraged by the fact that the new Z will cost more than six figures, as is usually the case with the Corvette, it’s still a total performance bargain when compared to some pricier, more exotic vehicles.

2022 Porsche 911 Turbo S
The Porsche 911 Turbo S is no slouch in the performance department, using its twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six to churn out 640 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque – good enough for a 0-60 run of 2.6 seconds. However, that’s identical to the C8 Z06’s estimated 2.6-second 0-60, though it’ll be interesting to see how this plays out in the real world. Regardless, the Z06 is way cheaper at $106k compared to the 911’s price tag of $217,550, and the Corvette is quicker than the $184,350 non-S 911 Turbo, too.

2023 Lamborghini Huracán EVO
For a princely sum of $262,000, Lamborghini Huracán Evo buyers get a 5.2-liter V10 that churns out 631 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, good for a 0-60 time of 2.8 seconds. It may look quite stunning, but that’s not going to get the job done against the far cheaper C8 Z06.

2023 Ferrari 296 GTB
Ferrari’s insanely powerful 296 GTB costs a princely sum of $317,985 but provides buyers with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 plug-in hybrid powertrain that makes 819 horsepower and 546 pound-feet of torque. However, performance is somewhat of a letdown by comparison, with 0-60 taking 2.9 seconds.

2022 McLaren GT
The McLaren GT is more of an entry-level offering in terms of that British brand, but it still costs a hefty $215,000. It’s powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that makes 612 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, which propels it to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. Quick, but not quick enough.

2022 Ford GT
The Ford GT is a car that one must fill out an application to purchase, and even then, few get that opportunity. It costs a whopping $500,000 and generates 660 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque from its twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, but still takes 3.0 seconds flat to reach 60 mph.

2022 Audi R8 V10 Performance
Finally, we have the Audi R8 V10 Performance, a Lamborghini in a more subtle suit that costs a more reasonable $150,195 and makes 562 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque from its 5.2-liter V10. As one might imagine, that isn’t enough to beat the C8 Z06 in a straight line, however, as it takes 3.6 seconds to reach 60 mph.
