There are few automotive brands that demand as much adoration from their owners or have as doting a fanbase as Ferrari and their Ferraristi. It can be rather overwhelming to be thrust into the position of seeing over 100 different Ferrari models in the same place at the same time.

The mesmerising sea of red encompasses the extent of the garages at the historic Grand Prix circuit, with the odd splash of colour serving as a reminder that a Ferrari can be finished in a hue other than Rosso Corsa. The reverberating sounds of new and old V8s, V12s and some other lesser common configurations bounce between the man made structures along the pit straight and are enough to end the momentary frenzy.

This for the 450 members present and 110 cars in attendance, is the pinnacle of automotive perfection and the life-long-work of a man intent on creating the fastest cars and most successful racing outfit of all time. Authentic Italian passion and unrivalled style is the bulwark of the gathering that makes the SEFAC one of longest standing and successful private Ferrari clubs the world over.

Peter Angouras, organiser and SEFAC committee member made mention of the success of the event in the following statement: “I’d say it was the best Kyalami Day we’ve ever had! The event ran smoothly, the food was great and the spectators who came courtesy of iTickets loved the lunchtime Ferrari grid walk.”

Some special mentions include the last model ever signed off by Enzo himself, the iconic and wedge shaped Ferrari F40 while the most powerful road car to come out of Maranello was also present; the SF90 Stradale and demanded as much attention from onlookers as its predecessors.

With things back on track and events occurring as they did before, the three year hiatus of the SEFAC Kyalami track day will hopefully be a thing of the past. Here’s to looking forward to the 2023 edition at the famed Grand Prix circuit, one that is rumoured to potentially even host Formula 1 in the same year.
