The versatile and retro-styled Aveta Ranger Explorer Max is powered by an efficient 127 cc air-cooled 4-stroke SOHC engine that gives 7.5 kW (10 hp) @ 8,000 rpm and 10.5 Nm of torque @ 5,500 rpm, and is paired with a 4-speed dual clutch transmission. The bike has EEV (energy efficient vehicle) rating and its 8.5-litre fuel tank is good for up to 390 km (approximately 2.2L/100km), depending on riding style and weight. The brake set-up is dual piston discs in front, and a drum at the back.
Providing robustness to the Aveta Ranger Max Explorer is a patented and specially engineered reinforced double T-bone frame which provides rigidity while being lightweight, to improve stability and handling. This motorbike is suited for leisurely road trips and capable enough to go off the beaten path. One of the notable highlights of the bike is the ready racks built into the front, middle and rear.
The Ranger Max Explorer benefits from 180 mm ground clearance, high position handlebars, low seat height (760 mm) and optimised footpeg placement for maximum comfort whether you are riding sitting down or standing up. The long front shocks measure 105 mm while the rear suspension has dual gas charged absorbers. These are connected to 18″ wheels for versatility and comfort.
Complementing the versatility of the Ranger Max Explorer is its retro styling with round design elements which also blends modern tech such as LED in the round headlamp and meter display as well as the integrated rear tail and indicator lights.
“Despite hardly any marketing or promotion, we were pleasantly surprised to see the Ranger 110 gain a cult following with so many avid bikers customising and transforming the moped to suit their needs,” commented Steven Lim, Group Managing Director of Aveta Malaysia. Thus, the introduction of the Aveta Ranger Max Explorer is a response to the success of the Ranger 110 moped (over 10,000 units sold since 2021 launch) and market demand.
“We believe the new Ranger Max Explorer, with its more powerful engine and better features, is an even better bike for outdoor pursuits that many Malaysians have taken to after the pandemic. As a brand, we are pivoting from being just another supplier of daily use bikes. We want Aveta to be synonymous with unique lifestyle bikes that redefine boundaries and offer endless adventure and fun at affordable price points,” he added.
Further, Aveta is also investing in its sales and aftersales support network to boost consumer confidence in its brand. The company has launched the Aveta Care on Wheels programme which currently consists of a support pickup truck and 3 bikes to attend to customers across Peninsular Malaysia.
Additionally, it is collaborating with motorcycle workshops to establish up to 30 Aveta Authorised Service Corners around the country by the end of 2024 to cater to the growing number of Aveta owners. It will also appoint up to 10 spare parts stockists in Peninsular and East Malaysia to ensure sufficient availability of parts.
To celebrate the launch, Aveta will be holding a 3-month “Time To Explore” campaign from 1 January 2024 to encourage Aveta Ranger Max Explorer owners to explore and share their adventures via the #Aveta, #TimetoExplore, and #RangerMaxExplore hashtags. The top 20 winners will enjoy a 2-day 1-night convoy and camping trip.
The Aveta Ranger Max Explorer comes in 2 colours i.e. Sierra Yellow and Forest Green, and has a retail price of RM6,988 (excluding insurance and road tax). The bike is covered by a 2-year or 20,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty.
The Ranger Max Explorer adventure cub will officially go on sale 11 December 2023, with the first 500 buyers receiving an exclusive t-shirt. However, if you are an Aveta Ranger Club Fan, you will enjoy exclusive early pre-booking on 2 December at the Ranger Max early access event at X-Park Sendayan.
