The Proton Exora has just received another update for 2022, sporting the new Proton emblem and nothing else different on the exterior. Dubbed the ‘RC2’, the 2022 Proton Exora now provides electronic stability control (ESC) on all variants.
The minor changes bump the Proton Exora’s price to RM62,800 for the Executive variant and RM69,800 for the Premium variant – RM3,000 more expensive than what it used to be (with SST included). Still powered by the same 1.6-lire turbocharged engine paired to the same CVT, the 2022 Proton Exora produces 140 hp of maximum power and 205 Nm of maximum torque.
The exterior of the ProtonExora is virtually unchanged – Still equipped with halogen lights on both variants, the same 16-inch alloy wheels, and not offering any new body colours. Colour options Snow White, Indiana Grey, Rosewood Maroon, Ruby Red, and Cocoa Grey.
On the inside, the 2022 Proton Exora inherits the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with the “Hi Proton” voice command system, which admittedly is a cool party trick. Smartphone connectivity is provided but only in the form of Mirror Link. Also featured on the 7-inch unit are online navigation, online music streaming, 4G, and Wi-Fi.
Sitting on the same chassis for more than ten years, the Exora still only offers 2 airbags. Standard safety features include the usual ABS, EBD, and ESC – The standard ESC is new for the Proton Exora. No advanced safety features have been added. Despite its age, the Proton Exora is still one of the most value-for-money 7-seater MPVs you can get out there.
