Chinese electric carmaker Nio has unexpectedly begun delivery of its EC7 coupe SUV, with deliveries getting underway in China on April 28, ahead of the mid-May timing announced late last year.
According to CnEVPost, via Nio’s mobile app and WeChat channel, deliveries officially kicked off with ceremonies held in Hefei, Shenzhen, Guiyang, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Taizhou, and Nanjing.
No mention was made of exactly how many EC7s were delivered in this first batch, but this accelerated delivery timetable could be an effort on part of Nio to strengthen weak sales.

Boasting a mind-boggling range of 940 kilometres (CLTC estimated), acceleration of 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds, the Nio EC7 is available in three variants with either a 75kWh standard range battery pack or a 100kWh battery pack.
Nio is promising to deliver the EC7 to more cities soon, and also offered a tantalising update for those in other countries.
Nio has made inroads into several European countries including Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Norway, and the Netherlands, each of which plays host to at least one battery swap station. Nio has also installed a number of supercharging stations across Europe, and boasts over 388,000 third-party charging piles across Europe.
