Hero MotoCorp has launched the new Passion XTec in India priced at ₹ 74,590 for the drum and ₹ 78,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the disc brake model. The new XTec variants, in line with other recent XTec models gets a new headlamp with LED daytime running lights along with packing in some new connectivity features. Compared to the standard Passion Pro, the new Passion XTec is roughly about Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 more expensive. Starting with the cosmetics, the Passion XTec gets a new LED headlamp which Hero says offers 12 per cent longer light throw than the standard halogen unit. The unit also features an LED DRL that bifurcates the headlamp into two sections with the design resembling an H. The bike also gets XTec branding along the lower fuel tank.

Also new to the Passion XTec is the digital instrument panel that comes enabled with Bluetooth connectivity. The Bluetooth functionality allows the unit to display SMS alerts, call alerts including the caller ID, missed call notifications along with the phone’s state of charge. The unit also provides real time mileage readouts as well as service reminders. Also integrated into the housing is a USB port to charge your phone. The bike also comes equipped with a side stand warning within the instrument panel and an engine cut-off feature that will not allow you to start the motorcycle as long as the side stand is down.

Powering the Passion XTec also gets a different engine to the Passion Pro. Compared to the latter’s 113cc unit, the XTec gets a 110cc, single cylinder engine. The unit develops 9 bhp at 7,500 rpm and 9.79 Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. The unit gets the company’s i3S idle start-stop technology to help improve fuel economy.
