SHANGHAI: Great Wall Motor (GWM) showcased its commitment to electrification at Auto Shanghai 2023, with a range of new energy vehicles from its five major brands – Haval, Tank, Ora, Poer, and Wey.
GWM Haval introduced its Fierce Dragon Max plug-in hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle), which made its world premiere, and featuring the Chinese automaker’s Hi4 (Hybrid Intelligent 4WD – four wheel drive) technology.
Also, GWM’s new pick-up, a 6×6 version of the Poer was launched together with the large high-performance hybrid pickup Poer Shanhai plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and hybrid (HEV), thus undersocring the Chinese automaker’s commitment to new energy pick-ups.
Meanwhile, GWM Tank saw the Tank400 PHEV making its world debut, and the luxury off-road SUV Tank500 PHEV opened for pre-sales.
In the high-end segment, GWM Wey released its first plug-in MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) namely the Gaoshan PHEV, and showcased the six-seater SUV, the Lanshan PHEV.
GWM Ora also released two pure electric models.
GWM also showcased its technologies such as the 3.0 turbocharged V6 engine and 9HAT (9-speed hydraulic automatic transmission), and its proprietary 6×6 super off-road platform.
Parker Shi, vice president and head of international market at GWM, said the group would accelerate the development of more high-quality new-energy products.
