This fully licensed product features some exquisite detailing.
If you've spent any time looking at automotive pages on Instagram, you may have come across Andrew Ritter's delightful page. The artist shares lovely and highly detailed illustrations of legendary performance cars. Now, Ritter's pieces are coming to life with a new range of 1:43 scale models, the first of which is the iconic RUF CTR Yellowbird.
In keeping with Ritter's distinct style, the scale model isn't an accurate representation of the Yellowbird but rather an animation-style take with a tall roofline and stubby proportions. It's cute, fun, and can now be yours. The body is beautifully crafted and features high-quality paintwork and all the details you'd expect from high-end scale model creators.
The interior is fully detailed and features the bucket seats and roll cage one would find in the life-sized version.

Take a peek into the cabin, and you'll note the speedometer is pegged at 213 mph – a nod to the Yellowbird's top speed. RUF and Porsche enthusiasts will appreciate the more minor touches, such as the RUF steering wheel, driver's side “cup” mirror, and the NACA ducts, among other things.
Even though this is a display model, Ritter Goods has recreated the undercarriage with great precision, something that gearheads will surely appreciate. According to the creator, components such as turbo waste gates, exhaust, and engine have been modeled in “Ritter Goods” fashion.
Every model is delivered on a stand and housed in a display case with a unique metal plaque. To celebrate the launch of this inaugural model, Ritter created a fun animated video of the CTR sliding its way around the Nurburgring in spectacular fashion.

Again, this references the Yellowbird's incredible lap around the famed circuit, captured in the cult classic Faszination on the Nurburgring, which you can watch above.
If you're not familiar with the CTR Yellowbird, allow us to explain what makes it so significant. What started in life as a Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 was quickly transformed into a supercar destroyer by Ruf. Aside from the fitment of twin turbochargers, the CTR also received a motorsport-derived fuel injection system and an increased engine displacement of 3.4 liters.
As a result, the yellow-painted 911 produced 463 horsepower and 408 lb-ft of torque, incredible figures for the time. Ruf even designed its own five-speed manual transmission for the CTR and fitted upgraded brakes and suspension. Oh, and aluminum body panels that reduced weight by more than 400 lbs.
If you want the 1:43 Ritter recreation, they're currently for sale at $125. Pricey, but not as expensive as some scale models we have seen recently.
