This Super Luxury Car is resurrected into something more awesome.
The 24 Hours of LeMons is a parody endurance racing series in the US, popular for its cult following and diverse teams that meticulously prepare eccentric and comically themed vehicles. The Bentley Continental Supersports – a high-powered, souped-up predecessor of the current Continental GT Speed – is an athletic coupe that comes in a luxurious package. It is not a car you would associate with the wacky race, yet that's exactly where it's headed.
Built by the B is for Build, the Conti was among the victims of Hurricane Ian. Despite that, its engine and transmission were well-preserved though the electricals were all shot – a perfect recipe for the purpose of running the novelty event.
There's a bit of concern from the build, though: The LeMons entries had to stay under a strict $500 limit, covering all expenses like repairs and modifications. The sky's the limit when it comes to modifications; you can even equip the car with a working machine gun, as long as you're within the budget.
However, there's a loophole to this. Participants who use a donor car with Bentley kits are exempt from the rule. So rather than modifying the entire Bentley, the builder opted to borrow removable body panels from the flooded Continental Supersports and affix them to a donor car. The borrowed components are the fenders, headlights, bumpers, and the hood.

With an abandoned BMW 335i as the donor, the team decided to repurpose the sedan while following the guidelines provided by the 24 Hours of LeMons organizers.
With the Bentley body parts and BMW platform as the base, the B is for Build team now faces the demanding task of transforming the car into a fully functional race car within the ten-day timeframe. The next steps involve cleaning up the BMW, stripping out the interior for safety compliance, and giving it a race car aesthetic.
There's still a long way to go before the team can deem the car worthy of the endurance event. It sure would be fun to see the results of this crazy “Bentley” lemon racer go against similar LeMons builds.
