A Ruby Star garage with a matching 911 or Taycan is the best way to say, “I have more money than you.”
Porsche North America is teaming up with the premium paint brand Backdrop to bring the German marque's iconic colors into your home. As part of a collaboration for Porsche's 75th anniversary, Irish Green, Speed Yellow, Ruby Star, and Riviera Blue can now grace the walls of your home in the same way they grace iconic Porsches around the world. The four colors were chosen because of their timelessness and significance to the brand even after all these years.
“Individualization is at the core of Porsche. Whether it's a custom-built Taycan or your home office, we want to inspire all to dream in full color,” said Ayesha Coker, Vice President of Marketing of PCNA. “Together with Backdrop, we've curated a series of bright, saturated colors that have significance to us and are sure to bring the beloved Porsche aesthetic to your home interior design.”

It's no secret the Porche puts a ton of time and effort into its paint colors. If the brand wants a shade on a car, it will figure out how to put that shade on the car. This has allowed the automaker to create some of the most colorful vehicles of all time, and when you can get them all in one place, you're in for a treat. Now the colors can follow you from your garage to the living room, something we imagine many owners will be excited about when they get to remodeling. Or, you can simply have a perfect garage to match your rides, with a Riviera Blue wall as the backdrop for your matching 911 and a Ruby Star wall for your Porsche Taycan in the same color.

As for the colors chosen, they each have a unique place in the brand's history. Irish Green was first seen on the 356C sports car in 1964 and was one of the first colors ever to adorn a Porsche 911. It's iconic, and we can always use another green sports car. Speed Yellow first appeared on a 911 in 1991 and is vibrant, fun, and never fails to draw attention.
Ruby Star also dates to 1991 and could be found on 911, 928, and 944 models. Originally known as Rubystone Red, the color was discontinued after two years before being brought back under a new name, Ruby Star. Perhaps the most iconic out of all these colors, it's so uniquely Porsche and creates the ultimate statement to drive around in a vivid pink Porsche. Likewise, it'd be the ultimate statement to have it in your house.
Finally, Riviera Blue debuted in 1994 and was available on the 911, 928, and 964. It's just a great blue, something you can't go wrong with.

We can imagine it must have been incredibly difficult to pick just four iconic paint colors from Porsche's back catalog, especially when the current Paint to Sample program offers 180 shades for discerning buyers to pick from. But the four it has chosen can best be described as iconic, and the bragging rights associated with buying official Porsche paint for your home will be off the charts.
This is paint for vintage Porsche owners, though, so it's definitely not cheap. Each gallon will come in custom-designed and co-branded paint cans with a limited edition Porsche 75 leather key chain and retails for $75 a can. Maybe start with a tiny wall first. Or, perhaps a classier idea will be a simple colored box on the white floor of a garage on top of which you park the car.
