Debuted in 2009, the mandate of the four-door Panamera was to transfer the firm’s sports car heritage into a platform which could comfortably accommodate four adult passengers and their respective luggage. Despite broad skepticism around its styling, Porsche has sold over 375,000 examples of the Panamera, to date.
The third-generation model’s exterior is distinguished by way of more muscular frame compared with the outgoing model, with focal points ranging from updated headlamp units and a new air intake above the number plate. The new Panamera measures 5 052 mm long, 1 937 mm wide and 1 423 mm tall, all dimensions similar to the previous version.

The new car gains Porsche’s Active Suspension Management system as standard. This two-valve technology allows for a broader range of adjustability between its comfort and sport settings. The brand’s all-wheel steering and the Porsche Active Ride system (for the E-Hybrid models) are offered as options.
The third-generation Panamera’s E-Hybrid range now includes a fourth model in the form of the Turbo E-Hybrid. With performance to all four wheels supplied by a 5,0-litre V8 and supplementary 140 kW electric motor (housed in the eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission), the Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid boasts a maximum output of 500 kW and 930 N.m. This hybrid model is capable of sprinting to 100 km/h from a standstill in 3,2 seconds and has an all-electric driving range of up to 91 km per charge.
The Turbo E-Hybrid derivative is distinguished from the rest of its range via model-specific design elements including rear apron, painted diffuser and front apron.
The new Panamera is scheduled to arrive in South Africa early in 2024
