Paying tens of thousands of dollars for a model car is wild, but it takes weeks to produce just one of these miniature recreations.
If you woke up to find an extra $22,000 in your bank account, you could purchase a brand-new Nissan Versa, go on a lavish vacation, and even pay off some debts – or you could purchase this Aston Martin DB5 Vantage 1:8 scale model offered by Amalgam Collection.
The company is known for its exquisite recreations and offers the finest model cars that money can buy. But what makes this particular piece so special? For one, it's limited to 199 examples, making it a true collector's piece. Each model is handbuilt by a team of specialists who lovingly craft each model with the best materials.
Amalgam says the development process for this model took more than 5,000 hours. The build process is slightly shorter but still exhaustive, at 500 hours. To put that into perspective, it would take a team more than 20 days to build just one if they worked non-stop.

To produce the most precise scale model, Aston Martin provided Amalgam with detailed specifications, paint codes, and even archive imagery, ensuring that it's as near-perfect as possible. Each model is comprised of thousands of meticulously engineered parts, including castings and CNC-machined metal pieces.
As a 1:8 scale piece, it's larger than your average model car, at 22 inches long. It would make the perfect desk decoration for a wealthy car collector, especially as the DB5 is a work of automotive art. The model receives Silver Birch paintwork, which is arguably the most iconic color for this classic sports car – you can thank James Bond for that.
Amalgam has done a fine job at creating a miniature version of the DB5's 4.0-liter engine. As the Vantage model, the inline-six engine produces 325 horsepower, up from the base model's 282 hp. The DB5 is already a rare car, but the Vantage is rarer still. A mere 65 examples were produced over the years.

The model features a functional hood and trunk lid, allowing enthusiasts to admire the gorgeous detailing. The doors also swing open, revealing the intricately designed cabin, replete with a wood-trimmed steering wheel and Smiths instrument dials.
As one of the most beloved Aston Martin models of all time, we have no doubt that Amalgam will sell each and every example of its 1:8 scale Aston Martin model car. While pricey, this DB5 will certainly interest enthusiasts with big pockets. $21,995 is a lot of money for a trinket, but it's a lot cheaper than purchasing a real-life DB5. Last year, the DB5 stunt car from No Time To Die sold for a staggering $3,228,444.
DB5 may be the most famous Aston Martin grand tourer, but it has been followed by a series of equally glamorous and desirable successors, the latest being the DB12, which is powered by a twin-turbo V8 with 671 horsepower.
