Catering to two-pedal trends in the entry-level SUV segment, Nissan has officially claimed the title of most affordable auto in the local market with the AMT Magnite. Here is how much it costs.

For starters, the latest addition to the Nissan stables features the 1,0-litre motor that omits the use of a turbocharger. Dubbed the Magnite Non-Turbo EZ-Shift, buyers can opt for theirs in a choice of 3 grades. The newcomer comes with ‘almost similar features’ to the current Visia, Acenta and Acenta Plus 1.0L non-turbo-engined Magnites. This means the model can be finished in a 2-tone exterior, chrome accents and LED lights on the top specification model. It also features dual front airbags to ensure safety in the entry-to-mid-level range of vehicles in the segment. This is because many governing bodies across the world have imposed rules and regulations that require automotive manufacturers to provide passive safety systems.
“We are excited to launch the new Magnite EZ-Shift, which builds on Nissan’s global SUV heritage and advanced technology, offering a feature-rich crossover experience that delivers on style and presence,” Stefan Haasbroek, Marketing Director at Nissan Africa said.
Handling the automated cog swapping is a 5-speed AMT which bridges the gap between the existing manual and CVT offerings in the lineup adds Haasbroek. This further emphasises the entry-level SUV segment for urban adventurers and low fuel consumption, a must for buyers in the segment.
