From ultra-limited editions to F1 cars, Goodwood got you covered.
While the Goodwood Festival of Speed is famous for its Hillclimb shootout, the event is filled with various exhibits that make up a high-octane weekend action. Among them is the Bonhams Goodwood FOS auction, and this year didn't disappoint with an incredible set of cars on sale.
Jonny Smith of The Late Brake Show and Richard Porter of Sniff Petrol are giving us a walk around the auction. They started with the AC MA-200 Roadster Prototype, a one-of-one V8-powered sports car with an estimated auction price between 450,000 to 550,000 pounds ($589,095 to $720,004). It is joined by the AC 428, a limited production car born from the roadster prototype.
Another unfamiliar model is Trident Venturer, said to be one of the rarest at the site. Underpinned by a stretched Triumph TR6 chassis, the Venturer is powered by a Ford 3.0-liter V6. Only 84 Venturers were produced before production ended in 1977.
As for mainstream brands, a Mercedes-Benz 190 E in black has been available for auction. It may have clocked 130,000 km (80,778 miles) already, but the owner spent 30,000 pounds for complete restoration using OEM parts at Merc dealerships. Since the restoration, the car hasn't been utilized often and never in the rain. This 190 E has a guide price of 100,000 to 150,000 pounds ($130,910 to $196,365).
Rare Aston Martin models have also made their way into the auction. The AM-owned Lagonda Taraf sits in the auction hall with only 120 km (75 miles) on the odo. Launched as a million-dollar car, the Taraf is expected to be auctioned at around 150,000 to 250,000 pounds ($196,365 to $327,275) only.

The first-ever second-generation Aston Martin Vanquish is displayed and has never been driven. A classic V8-powered AM Volante joins the club with a guide price of 110,000 to 150,000 ($144,001 to $196,365) pounds.
Fans of Formula 1 should be delighted to know Bonhams brought cars from the open-wheel single-seater race series. The Tyrrell 014 with a turbocharged Renault V6 from the 1985 season is present, as well as the Force India VJM02 Italian racing driver Giancarlo Fisichella put on the pole at the 2009 Belgian Grand Prix.
The 1973 Martini Racing Porsche 911 RSR 3.0 Prototype is racing up the walk around. It sure is a special one, as a Porsche expert believes this is the most important 911 in the world. Bonhams is currently not auctioning the 911, but it will be in the revival auction in September with an expected guide price of six to nine million pounds ($7,854,594 to $11,781,891).
