The City of Cape Town will once again be hosting a traffic fine roadshow in December, giving motorists the opportunity to address their outstanding traffic fines or warrants.
The service is being brought back due to popular demand following the success of previous roadshows, and this year it will be hosted over five days, from Friday 1, to Wednesday 6 December, including Saturday, but not Sunday.
It will be held at the Cape Town Civic Centre in the city’s CBD and will be open from 08h30 daily.

Cape Town’s traffic fine roadshows are an annual event used to provide a more accessible way for residents to finalize any vehicle or traffic-related fines or warrants.
The roadshow’s list of services available to the public includes:
- Paying outstanding fines
- Removing administration marks against their name on the Natis system
- Any fine-related enquiries for vehicles registered in the individual’s name
- Enquiring about warrants and/or summons issued in their name and finalizing these
- Applying for a reduction on traffic fines issued within the City of Cape Town’s municipal boundaries
The city has not provided an official closing time; instead, it notes in its official statement that its operational times could be amended depending on operational requirements.
Due to the high number of people expected to attend, the show’s coordinators have extended the event from three to five days, and it encourages individuals to arrive as early as possible, as it will operate on a “first come, first served” basis.
The first 600 people each day will be assisted, while those still in the queue after this point will receive a ticket to return the next day and be allowed to move to the front of that day’s queue ahead of non-ticket holders.
The Civic Centre has very limited parking, so visitors are encouraged to make use of public transport on the day.
Those attending should also ensure that they have at least one of the following documents:
- South African Identity document (RSA ID)
- South African Driving Licence
- South African Passport
- Traffic Register Certificate
Persons are also allowed to send someone in their place, and that person will be required to provide both their own identification, a copy of the ID of the person they are representing, and an affidavit stating they are acting on that person’s behalf.
