The sub-Saharan debut of the Formula E World Championship is nearly upon us, as the international racing series is scheduled to make its appearance in the beautiful city of Cape Town in just over two weeks.
The event will take place on Saturday the 25th of February, and the track will loop around Cape Town Stadium and the surrounding area of Green Point.
Local motoring enthusiasts will be able to catch the action from one of several stands erected around the track, and the good news is there’s still a number of tickets on sale for those who’d like to experience the event in person.
What’s available
The circuit incorporates a total of 12 turns, and there are four major seating venues positioned at key intervals along the track.
The first of these is a viewing area located on Vlei road between turns 12 and 1 which overlooks the start and finish line of the race.
Two of the four stands here are sold out, but the other two still have 86 seats available as of the time of writing, with prices for these tickets starting at R2,295.
Next up is a viewing area on Helen Suzeman boulevard between turns 1 and 2, where two of the eight stands still have a combined 727 seats up for grabs with an asking price of R1,995 per ticket.
Further up the track is a viewing platform on Granger Bay boulevard, located between turns 3 and 4, where one stand still has 308 seats, and these seats will each cost R1,595.
Finally there is a stretch along the Beach road promenade between turns 9 and 10, where only one of the four seating areas still has empty chairs.
There are 99 seats still available for purchase on the Beach road section, and these seats start at R3,450 per person.
You can visualize where the various seating locations are according to the official track layout below:
