Tata Motors will soon launch the XM+ (S) trim level of the Tata Altroz premium hatchback in the Indian market. This new trim level will sit between the XM+ and XT trim levels of the premium hatchback.
According to Tata Motors’ official website, the upcoming XM+ (S) variant of the Tata Altroz premium hatchback will come with features such as a voice-assisted sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, auto door lock, a 7-inch infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, smartphone integration, electrically adjustable ORVMs and more.
Thanks to the upcoming XM+ (S) variant, customers keen on the sunroof feature no longer need to opt for the top-spec XZ+ (S) variant. Also, equipping the sunroof on a mid-spec variant will attract quite a few customers as well.
On top of that, this upcoming trim level of the Tata Altorz premium hatchback will be available with three engine options. This includes the 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a CNG version based on the same engine, and the 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine.
Speaking about powertrains, the 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine in the Tata Altroz puts out 84.82bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. In comparison, the CNG variant based on the same engine puts out 76bhp of power and 97Nm of torque in CNG mode,
On the other hand, the 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine outs out 88.78bhp of peak power and 200Nm of torque. Furthermore, all engine options come equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. Also, there is a dual-clutch transmission option on the higher-spec petrol variants.
It is worth mentioning that the Tata Altroz is the only hatchback in India to sport a 5-Star safety rating from Global-NCAP. In addition to that, the Tata Altroz also comes with safety systems such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX points, ESC, reversing sensors and more.
At present, the Tata Altroz XM+ variant (petrol+manual) priced at Rs 7.45 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the XT variant is priced at Rs 8.00 lakh (ex-showroom). As such, we expect the upcoming XM+ (S) variant to be priced between these two variants.
Thoughts About Upcoming Tata Altroz Variant
With the launch of the Tata Altroz XM+ (S) variant, customers keen on the sunroof feature no longer need to opt for the top-spec XZ+ (S) variant. As such, we expect this new variant to attract quite a few customers to Tata dealerships across the country and improve overall sales.
