From the 1st quarter of 2022, Suzuki will be offering the Vitara SUV as a hybrid with a combination of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor.
So far, the Suzuki Vitara has only been available as a mild hybrid with a 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine and an output of 129 hp and a maximum torque of 235 Nm. In the first quarter of 2022, the Japanese will add a full hybrid variant to the drive portfolio of the small SUV.
With front or all-wheel drive
The heart of the new Vitara full hybrid is a 24 kW and 60 Nm electric motor that not only supports the new 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 102 hp and 138 Nm when accelerating, but can also drive the Vitara on its own. The system output is 115 hp. The system is linked to an automated six-speed manual transmission. Suzuki specifies the size of the lithium-ion battery as 0.84 kWh. A purely electric range is also not specified. The Vitara can recuperate when braking and thus recover energy. The hybrid version can be ordered with either front or all-wheel drive. The top speed is reached at 180 km / h, the consumption is between 4.7 and 6.0 liters.
