New GSX-8R to complete Suzuki’s 800cc lineup
During the 2022 edition of EICMA, Suzuki introduced their (then) new 800cc platform with the V-Strom 800DE and the naked GSX-8S. Both bikes utilized the newly-developed 776cc liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-twin engine which is claimed to be capable of producing 86 PS of power and 74 Nm of torque.
With an adventure bike and a naked bike, Suzuki completes its 800cc lineup with this year’s introduction of the new GSX-8R sportbike.
Middleweight sportbike
According to Suzuki, the new GSX-8R is a sport model that allows riders of all ages and skill levels to enjoy various types of riding, from urban streets to winding roads and circuits.
As mentioned above, the new “8R” is based on the GSX-8S, which has received high praise worldwide. The GSX-8R is equipped with fairings and separate handlebars suitable for sport riding.
The design incorporates the heritage of Suzuki’s sport bikes, presenting functional beauty by exposing the engine and seat rail, resulting in a modern and innovative design. With the 86 Ps parallel twin-cylinder engine and a frame designed to match it, as well as Showa suspension system, the GSX-8R is a versatile model suitable for everyday use, sport riding, and touring.
Other notable features of the GSX-8R include 3 riding modes, traction control, ride-by-wire, quick shifter, easy start system, low RPM assist, and a 5-inch TFT screen.
