- Suzuki Celerio Dashboard Warning Lights
Have you ever wondered what those little lights on your dashboard mean? You will see these reappear when you’re driving if there’s a problem somewhere in your car.
Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes
Suzuki introduced the brand new Celerio range in 2022, however, the previous generation model became available in 2015 and was later refreshed in 2018. Now if you have found yourself in the rare situation of finding an illuminated warning light in the instrument cluster, here is a quick guide on what those warning lights mean.
Alternatively, you can get an Instant Offer on your current car and start your search for a new or used Suzuki Celerio model on AutoTrader that might be a little younger than the one you have.
Here’s a breakdown of the warning lights that appear on a Suzuki Celerio 1.0 GL MT
1. Electric Power Steering Light
If this light remains on after starting or comes on while driving, it indicates a problem with the power steering system. You will still be able to steer, however, steering will feel heavier.
2. High Engine Coolant Temperature Warning
Should this light flicker while you are driving, it means the engine is running hot. Avoid driving conditions that will lead to actual overheating. If the light is on but not blinking, then the engine is overheating and you should stop immediately.
3. Open Door Warning Light
This light indicates a passenger door(s) or the tailgate is open. If the vehicle is moving, this warning light will be accompanied by a sound.
4. Brake System Warning Light
If its light is illuminated, chances are that the parking brake is still engaged. If the parking brake has been released but the light is still on, then there is a problem with the braking system, such as low brake fluid.
5. Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light
Should this light appear in the instrument cluster, there may be a problem with the ABS system. If this light comes on simultaneously with the Brake System Warning Light, then there may be something wrong with both the rear brake force control function and the anti-lock function of the ABS system.
6. Malfunction Indicator Light
iI this light comes on, there may be damage to the emission control system or there is something wrong with the Auto Gear Shift system. Continuing driving with this light on can cause permanent damage to the vehicle’s emission control system and can affect fuel economy and driveability.
7. Charging Light
You will see this light illuminated when there is a problem with the battery charging system. It should be taken for immediate inspection.
8. Immobilizer System Light
You will see this light come on for a moment when the ignition is switched On. If it is blinking when switched on then the engine will not start as there may be something wrong with your key or with the immobilizer system.
9. Airbag light
You will only see this light come on if there is a problem with the airbag system or the seat belt pre-tensioner system. If this light doesn’t come on/blink briefly when the car is started, then have the systems checked.
10. Oil Pressure Light
If there is insufficient oil pressure in your Celerio, you will see this light illuminate. If the light comes on while driving, pull over to the side of the road as soon as you can and stop the engine. Check your oil levels and add oil if needed. If there is enough oil, then your lubrication system needs to be inspected.
11. Fuel Gauge with tachometer
The fuel light will only come on if you are running low on petrol. If you have just filled the tank and it remains on, drive for a few kilometres and the system should register that there is fuel on board. If the light remains on, you will need to have your fuel float sensor checked.
