Pirelli will stay as Formula 1’s sole tyre supplier through 2027, after a new three-year contract with the championship was announced on Tuesday.
Pirelli took over as Formula 1’s only tyre provider from Bridgestone in advance of the 2011 season.
Pirelli faced competition from Bridgestone for the next contract cycle, covering 2025 through 2027, but the Italian marque received the backing of Formula 1 to stay in the championship.
The agreement includes an option to cover the 2028 season.
Pirelli will also continue as the sole tyre supplier to Formula 2 and Formula 3.
“Since returning to the sport in 2011 Pirelli has been an invaluable partner, supporting Formula 1 through new generations of technology and technical regulations and delivering tyres to enable fantastic racing for our fans,” said Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.
“I would also like to commend Bridgestone for their impressive proposal and engagement throughout the process. They have a proud legacy in our sport and I would like to thank them for their highly professional and passionate engagement with us.”
