2021 might have been a quiet year for Maruti Suzuki but they are planning to launch 8 vehicles in 2022. Today we list them all down.
Celerio CNG
Maruti Suzuki launched the new generation of the Celerio last year. It is currently the most fuel-efficient vehicle in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki has already confirmed that the new engine of Celerio supports CNG and according to the media reports, India’s largest automobile manufacturer could launch the Celerio CNG by the end of January.
New-gen Baleno
Maruti Suzuki will be launching the new generation of the Baleno in February 2022. The exterior design of the hatchback has already been leaked online. The manufacturer has completely redesigned the exterior and the interior also has some updates. We are not expecting any major updates to the Baleno mechanically.
XL6 Facelift
When Maruti Suzuki launched the XL6 everyone was a bit sceptical because it was essentially a heavily redesigned Ertiga but it has been selling well. A test mule of the XL6 facelift was spotted wearing heavy camouflage. It is expected to come with a new bumper and a new grille. The interior might remain mostly the same but this time Maruti Suzuki might add a 7-seater version of the XL6 to the line-up.
Ertiga
Maruti Suzuki is also working on updating the best selling MPV in the Indian market, Ertiga. The facelift will mostly stay the same. The only change that we have spotted till now is the new updated grille which now resembles the one found on the new generation Baleno.
S-Cross
Suzuki has launched the new generation of S-Cross in the global market. Now, they will be launching the new mid-size SUV in the Indian market. The design of the S-Cross has been heavily updated. Where the previous S-Cross looked more like a crossover, the new one looks like a SUV which is a good thing. It still comes with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine but the mild-hybrid technology has been upgraded from 12V to 48V.
Alto 800
The manufacturer will also be updating their smallest hatchback, Alto. The facelift of the Alto 800 has been spotted with an updated larger grille and new headlamps that retain the same design but are larger. At the rear, there are new squarish tail lamps. The interior has not yet been spotted but the cabin might be now larger because Maruti Suzuki can shift to the Heartect platform.
Brezza
Maruti Suzuki will also be updating the Brezza finally. It will now simply be called just Brezza instead of Vitara Brezza. The design of the compact SUV has already been leaked and it is all-new. The front has an SUV like bumper, there is a new grille and new LED projector headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lamps. Maruti Suzuki will also be adding a lot of features like connected car tech, 360-degree parking camera, paddle shifters and a lot more.
Jimny
Jimny is the SUV that most people are waiting to launch. The version that will be launched in India is expected to be a 5-door one that is still under development. It will not be much different from the 3-door Jimny in terms of design. But in terms of length, it will be 300 mm longer which will give space to the manufacturer to fit proper rear doors which will make the SUV a lot more practical.
