India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has revealed that the facelifted 2022 XL6 MPV will be launched on the 21st of April. The facelifted Maruti Suzuki XL6 will go up against the likes of the Kia Carens and the Mahindra Marazzo in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki XL6 Bookings
Maruti Suzuki opened bookings for the facelifted XL6 opened on the 11th of April. Prospective owners can book their premium XL6 MPV from Maruti Suzuki’s premium Nexa dealerships for a booking amount of Rs 11,000.
Maruti Suzuki XL6 Engine & Gearbox Update
The biggest change for the new XL6 will arrive under the bonnet. Like the recently launched Ertiga, the 2022 XL6 will feature the new 1.5-litre K15C engine from Maruti Suzuki. This new K15C engine features dual jet, dual VVT and mild-hybrid technology.
The 2022 Maruti XL6’s K15C engine produces 101.6bhp at 6,000rpm and 136.8Nm of peak torque at 4,400rpm. The engine is offered with two gearbox options. The first is the tried and tested 5-speed manual gearbox.
The other gearbox is the new 6-speed torque converter automatic. XL6s fitted with the torque converter automatic will also feature paddle shifters. This will make the premium XL6 MPV the second product from Maruti Suzuki to feature paddle shifters after the newly launched Ertiga.
2022 Maruti Suzuki XL6 Design & Feature Upgrades
Maruti Suzuki’s teasers have revealed that the XL6 will feature a brand new grille and tweaked front and rear bumpers. Other design changes 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and new standard and dual-tone options for the paint schemes offered on the refreshed XL6 MPV.
Step inside the new Maruti Suzuki XL6 and you’ll be greeted by the all-new infotainment display first seen on the recently launched Ertiga.
The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with a host of connected car features seen on the Ertiga. This should include the voice assistant activated with the ‘Hey Suzuki’ key phrase.
The new Maruti Suzuki XL6 will also feature a 360-degree camera setup to allow owners to park their MPV more easily thanks to the feed being available on the new infotainment display.
Like its more affordable sibling, the new XL6 is also expected to sport an updated safety feature list. This safety feature list should include 4 airbags (driver, front passenger, front sides) as standard, ESP, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX anchors for child seats and rear parking sensors, an overspeeding alert system and a seatbelt reminder setup.

The facelifted Maruti Suzuki XL6 is set to arrive in a few days with a host of updates, especially under the hood. The upgraded Maruti Suzuki XL6 is expected to get more expensive but the upgrades should hopefully ensure that Maruti’s 6-seater MPV continues to be the value for money offering in the premium MPV market.
