The 1.2-litre K12C engine less powerful of the Fronx’s powerplants and sports Dual Jet and Dual VVT tech that allows it to produce 88.5bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 4,400rpm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox options.
The more powerful of the engines is the turbocharged 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine last seen with the Baleno RS. In the Fronx, this engine churns out 98.7bhp at 5,500rpm and 147.6Nm of peak torque from 2,000 to 4,500rpm.
The Boosterjet version of the all-new Fronx crossover from Maruti Suzuki is offered with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic that allows for manual control with paddle shifters.
The all-new Maruti Suzuki Fronx features a rather unique design which mixes together the boxy shapes of Maruti’s SUVs with the curvy styling cues of the Baleno hatchback it is based on.
At the front, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx sports an upright grille with the Suzuki badge up top. This badge is connected to the LED DRLs by strips of chrome that up the premium looks of the new Fronx crossover.
The split lighting setup at the front means that the Fronx triple LED headlights are situated in their own enclosures lower on the front bumper. Also seen at the front are a faux skid plate and an air intake that sits just above it.
From the sides, the Baleno underpinnings of the new Fronx Crossover are more visible, especially at the C-Pillar which also sports a black plastic insert that gives the illusion of a floating roof.
The chunky SUV-inspired wheelarches lay host to new 16-inch precision-cut alloy wheels that sport a rather unique geometric look. The lower section of the window line sports chrome while the pillars are all finished in black.
The rear section of the Fronx is all-new with the crossover sporting a steeply angled rear windscreen, roof-mounted spoiler, and full-width lightbar-style rear taillights. The rear bumper also sports a large faux bash plate finished in silver.
The all-new Fronx is offered in 7 monotone shades – Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Bluish Black, Celestial Blue, Opulent Red, and Earthen Brown. The Fronx is also available in three dual-tone options – Splendid Silver with Bluish Black Roof, Opulent Red with Bluish Black Roof and Earthen Brown with Bluish Black Roof.
The interior of the Fronx comes packed with tech including a 9-inch infotainment screen with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The New Fronx also gets 40+ connected car features along with a 360-degree camera, and a heads-up display.
The new Fronx also comes packed with a host of safety features like 6 airbags, ESP with Hill Hold Assist & rollover mitigation, ABS with EBD, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages. The Fronx uses high-tensile steel in its construction to provide a strong body structure.
