The Maruti Suzuki Fronx turned out to be a very successful model for the Indo-Japanese automaker in the country. Now, the company is looking forward to tasting the same success in other countries by commencing the export of the Fronx SUV.
According to Maruti Suzuki, 556 units of the Fronx SUV have been shipped to various destinations in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. These vehicles have been shipped from Mumbai, Mundra, and Pipavav Ports.
Speaking about the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, this sub-4m SUV is actually based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback. However, the designers at Maruti Suzuki have done a commendable job at hiding the hatchback roots and making the Fronx SUV very distinct.
Coming to the powertrain, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV comes with two engine options. The base 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, 4-cylinder petrol engine produces 88.5bhp and 113Nm of torque. Furthermore, this engine can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
The next engine option is a more powerful 1.0-litre, turbocharged, 3-cylinder engine with 98.6bhp and 147.6Nm of peak torque. This engine can be specified with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic unit.
Some of the highlighting features in the Maruti Suzuki Fronx include a head-up display, 360-degree surround-view camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, wireless charger, 6-speaker audio system, push-button start/stop system, connected car tech, and fast charging USB ports.
It is also worth mentioning that the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV managed to bag more than 39,000 bookings ahead of its launch. This makes the Fronx SUV one of the more successful products under Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa range of dealerships.
Thoughts About The Export Of Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV
With the export of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV, the car manufacturer aims to replicate the success of the Fronx SUV in other countries. That being said, we expect this sub-4m SUV from Maruti Suzuki to do well in the international markets as well.
