The upcoming KTM 250 Adventure rival from Suzuki will share its powertrain with the Gixxer 250
There is no denying that the entry-level Adventure tourer segment is quite popular in India. Almost all the major two-wheeler manufacturers have atleast one of their products in this segment.
Although a bit late but Suzuki has finally decided to join the league. The Japanese bike maker has recently teased its upcoming adventure tourer on its social media platforms.
We are not sure whether Suzuki will use the V-Storm nameplate on their upcoming quarter-litre adventure tourer yet, but it will certainly share its engine with the Gixxer 250.
Here are all the details you need to know about the upcoming 2022 Suzuki Adventure tourer 250.
2022 Suzuki 250 Adventure Powertrain Detail
But it does provide us with a few details of what to expect from the upcoming adventure tourer
The teaser video of the upcoming adventure tourer does not reveal much detail about the design, but the bronze engine casing hints that the upcoming motorcycle will share its engine with the Gixxer 250.
Suzuki will power their adventure tourer with the Gixxer’s 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected mil. The unit makes an impressive 26.5 ps and 22.2 Nm on the Gixxer 250. We doubt that Suzuki will change the tuning or the gearing of the engine to match the adventure tourer character.
Why will Suzuki not launch the V-Storm 250 in India?
The V-Storm 250 sold in the International market uses a more advanced 248cc, parallel-twin mill. But to keep their adventure tourer pricing in check as per its Indian rivals, Suzuki has decided to use the cheaper single-cylinder, an oil-cooled mill that they developed especially for the Indian market.
2022 Suzuki 250 Adventure Design
The upcoming adventure tourer will rival the KTM 250 Adventure and the Benelli TRK 251
The upcoming adventure tourer will most likely take its styling inspiration from the other bigger adventure tourer bikes from the Suzuki Motorcycle lineup.
Expect the upcoming Japanese motorcycle to feature a tall stance, secondary beak, and tall visor to protect the rider from windblast.
Suzuki will also work on the suspension tune to make it more offroad friendly. The motorcycle will share many parts and components with the Gixxer 250, including the instrument console, switch gears, chassis, and suspension components.
The bike will feature disc brakes on both ends and a dual-channel ABS.
2022 Suzuki 250 Adventure Tourer Pricing, Rivals, and Launch Timeline
The 10-second teaser video does not reveal a lot about the upcoming bike
Suzuki will likely price their upcoming adventure tourer at par with its Austrian rivals at around Rs 2.10 Lakh rupee mark.
The 2022 Suzuki 250 Adventure will take on the KTM 250 Adventure and the Benelli TRK 251 when it finally launches within the coming few weeks.
