The base Maruti hatchback was recently spotted without any disguise and is prepared for a generational overhaul. It has been officially announced that the new Maruti Suzuki Alto will debut on August 18.
Dimensionally, the new 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto will be larger than the present model. It will be aesthetically pleasing and take design cues from the present Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
We anticipate the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto to be equipped with contemporary technologies like a touchscreen infotainment system and steering-mounted audio controls for the top model. Dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, and ABS are all standard on the entry-level hatchback.
The 0.8-litre petrol engine that produces 48PS and 69Nm and is coupled to a 5-speed manual from Maruti will probably continue to be available in the Alto. The same 1-litre gasoline engine that powers the Celerio and produces 67PS and 89Nm may also be available, thanks to its bigger body. For higher fuel efficiency than the smaller engine, this engine has an idle start-stop (ISS), and it could have an AMT automatic transmission option. Maruti could also add ISS to the 0.8-litre engine.
Price estimates for the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto range from Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom) to well over Rs 5 lakh, with the new top-spec model. The price of a bigger engine option with AMT can perhaps reach Rs 6 lakh. The Renault Kwid will continue to be its main challenger.
