Two new variants and a cabin redesign headline 24MY update for popular mid-size luxury SUV
The Range Rover Evoque has been given a comprehensive upgrade for the 2024 model year (24MY in Land Rover parlance), bringing a series of subtle price adjustments and the addition of two new Autobiography variants of the popular mid-size luxury SUV, taking the local model range out to five offerings.
Due to arrive in Australia in December, the refreshed Range Rover Evoque line-up now starts from $81,800 plus on-roads for the entry-level Dynamic SE P250 (+$2160) and stretches right the way out to $117,300 plus ORCs for the new flagship Autobiography P300e.
Between these two variants are the familiar Dynamic HSE P250 ($88,100 plus ORCs) and Dynamic HSE P300e ($108,000 plus ORCs) twins, which have each had close to $3700 added to their respective asking prices, as well as the new Autobiography P250 ($99,550 plus ORCs).
The price increases for the established variants are offset by the addition of a new curved 11.4-inch infotainment system boosted by dual-sim connectivity and over-the-air updates, plus a redesigned dashboard and centre console, a new gear selector, wireless phone charging, new trim finishes, Amazon Alexa functionality and slimline Pixel LED headlights for the HSE (and Autobiography).
Three new colours – Arroios Grey, Tribeca Blue and Corinthian Bronze – have been added to the Evoque’s exterior palette, along with a series of new eco-friendly upholstery options and Range Rover’s proprietary Cabin Air Purification Plus system.
All of these updates are alluded to by the Evoque’s redesigned grille and fresh alloy wheel designs.
No changes have been made to either of the baby Range Rover’s powertrain or chassis set-ups, meaning the P250 turbo-petrol four-cylinder still outputs 184kW/365Nm and the P300e plug-in hybrid system is still good for 240kW/550Nm, but “updated battery chemistry” is claimed to have boosted the latter’s electric-only driving range from 62 to 66km (NEDC), and to 48km in the real world.
Range Rover managing director Geraldine Ingham said the updates make the MY24 Evoque “even smarter and more sophisticated”, thanks in part to the updated cabin that’s claimed to offer the “calm and tranquillity that is the hallmark of a Range Rover”.
