The Range Rover Evoque is a stylish city SUV that is actually quite capable offroad. The Evoque is equipped with a number of electronic gadgets and gizmos that require a constant source of power.
When it comes time to replace the battery, you can take it to your nearest Jaguar Land Rover dealership or you can do the replacement yourself, follow our tutorial below.
You will need:
- Replacement JLR approved battery of correct size and amperage
- No.3 Flathead screwdriver
- 13mm Socket, extension and driver or wrench
- 10mm socket or wrench
Let’s get it done
1. Open the bonnet
2. Remove the plastic cover that hides the battery by removing the four plastic screws
3. Remove the plastic air intake by removing the plastic hold down screws
4. Use the 13mm to remove the body brace
5. Use the 10mm to remove the negative (-) terminal
6. Use the 10mm to remove the positive (+) terminal
7. Replace the battery
8. Assemble in reverse order
The vehicles onboard BMS (Battery Management System) will reset after 8 hours by first charging the battery to its full capacity and then discharging to 75% of its capacity before returning to its normal charge management.
It is highly advised to make use of a charge saver to ensure that no in-vehicle settings are lost ie; windows seats, infotainment and computer data settings.
