Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia (JLRM) has officially launched the third-generation Range Rover Sport for the Malaysian market with a fresh design, new powertrain, as well as a host of new technology.
In terms of design, the new Range Rover Sport features a stealth-like front-grille with digital LED lighting units. These eye-catching designs, the slimmest ever fitted to a Range Rover, rest above a sculpted, double-aperture lower bumper, accompanied by black detailing.
While the lines of the exterior are enhanced by flush door handles as well as a hidden waist rail finisher and laser-welded roof, the new Range Rover Sport also comes fitted with 22-inch Style 5127 Satin Dark Grey wheels and soft door close mechanism.
Inside, the cabin features a high, sloping centre console and intuitive technologies, with standard features that include a four-zone climate control system which enables personalised climate settings for both the driver and passengers, while the cabin air purification pro feature filters out impurities and allergens, ensuring optimal comfort.
The Pivi Pro infotainment system takes centre stage with its high-resolution floating 13.1-inch curved touchscreen. With an easy-to-use interface, Pivi Pro’s home screen is customisable, with features that can be accessed with just two taps of the main screen.
Haptic feedback enhances the system, reducing the need for the driver to divert their attention from the road. The Pivi Pro screen is complemented by a 13.7-inch Interactive Driver Display with a reconfigurable layout.
Under the hood, the 3.0-liter turbocharged Petrol MHEV 400PS engine can accelerate from zero to 100km/h in just 5.7 seconds. Built on flexible mixed-metal Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex), it provides up to 35% higher torsional stiffness than its predecessor, forming the foundation for an integrated chassis control system specially tuned for the new Range Rover Sport.
In addition, the inclusion of Dynamic Air Suspension elevates the suspension bandwidth by varying pressure within the chambers. The new Range Rover Sport also features eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, allowing for optimised traction in all conditions.
Safety features include Emergency Braking, a 3D Surround Camera, Wade Sensing, the enhanced visibility of ClearSight Ground View and ClearSight Interior Rear View Mirror, Manoeuvring Lights, Adaptive Cruise Control with Steering Assist, Driver Condition Response, Lane Keep Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition.
That being said, the 2023 Range Rover Sport is priced at RM1,698,000.00 on the road including taxes.
