2022 Range Rover SVR: what is it?
We’re all very familiar with the Range Rover Sport SVR with its supercharged V8, but fresh spy shots suggest that the ‘full-fat’ Range Rover might be next for the sporty treatment.
Heavily disguised test mules featuring sizeable exhaust exits suggest more is to come from the all-new Range Rover. We’ve seen the new car testing before, but this appears to be a variant we haven’t spotted until now.
2022 Range Rover SVR: what is it powered by?
Now, this is a big question. A solid guess would be JLR’s tried and tested supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, but the British marque has recently signed an engine agreement with BMW. Could this Range Rover SVR get a motor prepared by BMW’s M division? Watch this space.
2022 Range Rover SVR: when will it be on sale?
We’ll have to wait for a while longer before the Range Rover SVR breaks cover. Not only is this an early test mule, meaning that there’s plenty of testing still to be done, but we haven’t seen the all-new Range Rover this sporty model is based on yet.
We’d expect to see the all-new Range Rover revealed before the end of the year, meaning that the debut of this SVR will at least be another six months after that. Tentatively place a marker on summer 2022.
2022 Range Rover SVR: how much will it cost?
This is a tricky question to answer right now because we don’t even have any pricing for the all-new Range Rover yet. Going by existing pricing and where an SVR model might sit within the Range Rover model tree, we’d guess around £165k for this new variant.
