The new Range Rover Sport will still come with a twin-turbo V8. Full electric version to follow in two years
Singapore – Following the launch of the Range Rover… erm Range Rover, Land Rover announces the introduction of the new equally slab-sided Range Rover Sport.
Looking to more electrification, powertrains include two extended range Electric Hybrid, MHEVs in both petrol and diesel versions.
The P510e Electric Hybrid is the powertrain of interest, where Land Rover claims a full electric range of more than 100km. The electric motor on its own delivers 105kW, which gets its power from a 38.2kWh battery. This is paired with their familiar Ingenium in-line six, for a system output of 510ps. This setup propels the P510e to 100km/h in 5.4 seconds, and boasts a real-world range of 740km. A “more affordable” P440e Electric Hybrid is also available, which produces 440PS.
Topping off the Range Rover Sport range, is a V8 Twin Turbo, which produces 530PS of pure engine power, and to ensure the best bite into tarmac, the V8 is equipped with Dynamic Launch.
The new Range Rover Sport is equipped with Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (iAWD), combining the best of Land Rover’s all-terrain innovations, designed to deliver the best off-roading capabilities. A height-adjustable Dynamic Air Suspension ensures the best of comfort and and composure.

It is the first vehicle to feature our new Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control, which has been engineered to help drivers focus on steering the vehicle by providing consistent and comfortable progress across rough terrain.”
Ensuring the best off-roading capabilities, the Range Rover Sport’s Terrain Response 2 does the lion’s share of the work in adapting to different kinds of terrain, while feeding information back to the driver through the Pivi Pro touchscreen. As a first for Land Rover, the included Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control technology provides a choice of four settings to negotiate rough surfaces, enabling drivers to focus on steering the vehicle.
On the inside, owners will enjoy heated/ventilated electric memory front seats with massage function, complete with winged headrests. Rear passengers benefit from up to 31mm more legroom, and 20mm additional knee clearance.
The sloping centre console houses the Pivi Pro infotainment system. Amazon Alexa, which works without the need of a smartphone, is embedded into the Pivi Pro unit, adding another layer of integration, by allowing natural voice commands to be used. The Software Over The Air (SOTA) ensures that updates can be provided without the need to show up at the dealership. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported wirelessly as standard, and so is a 15W wireless charger.
Buyers who want an even more dynamic drive can opt for the Stormer Handling pack, which combines Dynamic Response Pro, together with All-Wheel Steering and Electronic Active Differential with Torque Vectoring by Braking.
