And a new Skoda Kodiaq and Superb will be launched this year, followed by the all-new Elroq small electric SUV in 2024
Skoda has promised to release no fewer than six new all-electric models by 2026, four of which will replace popular existing petrol or diesel models.
Doubling the number of EVs it plans to launch in the medium term, Skoda’s new electric vehicle offensive was accompanied by computer-generated ‘sculptures’ of the six new battery-powered models to be launched in Europe between 2024 and 2026.
This includes the Skoda Enyaq mid-size electric SUV and its sleeker sister model, the Enyaq Coupe, which were launched in 2020 and 2022 respectively, have been confirmed as Skoda Australia’s first EVs by early 2024 and will come in for a mid-life makeover in 2025.

The remaining four Skoda EVs are simply listed as ‘Small’, ‘Compact’, ‘Combi’ and ‘Space’, and the ‘Compact’ electric SUV is expected to become the Czech brand’s first all-new electric model when it hits Europe debut next year.
Designed to replace the current Skoda Karoq, the all-electric new 2024 Skoda Elroq – as it will be called – will measure about 4500mm long, making it at least 115mm longer than the petrol-powered small SUV it will replace next year.
Coming after that from Skoda in 2025 – via its Spanish affiliate Seat – is an all-new ‘Small’ (light) electric SUV measuring around the same 4100mm long as the Fabia hatch it will replace, priced from €25,000 ($A41,572).

It will be based on a cheaper EV platform developed by the Volkswagen Group, Skoda’s parent company, for various Cupra and VW models.
Then in 2026, Skoda says it will launch its first electric wagon, as previewed by the ‘Combi’ concept you see here, to replace the popular Octavia wagon with a similar 4700mm overall length.

Also due in 2026 is Skoda’s new flagship EV, the large ‘Space’ SUV that was first seen as the Vision 7S electric SUV concept in August 2022.
At around 4900mm long, the large seven-seat electric SUV (hence the concept’s 7S name) will be almost 200mm longer than the current Skoda Kodiaq and its maker previously claimed the production version will deliver a 600km-plus driving range from an 89kWh battery pack.
Developed at a cost of €5.6 billion ($A9.3b), all six new EVs will adopt Skoda’s new ‘Modern Solid’ design language and the company says EVs will account for about 70 per cent of its sales in Europe by 2030.

However, the Czech car-maker will also develop a new turbo-petrol engine for more than 50 models across seven brands in the Volkswagen Group, which has owned Skoda since 1991.
Separately, Skoda said it would introduce next-generation versions of the large Superb liftback and wagon and the Kodiaq large SUV – with plug-in hybrid power – as well as a facelifted Scala hatch and Kamiq small SUV by the end of this year.
Supply chain issues and the Ukraine conflict reduced Skoda’s global sales last year by 16.7 per cent to 731,300 cars, but the Octavia remained the top-seller with 141,100 sold, followed by the Kamiq (96,300), Kodiaq (94,500) and Fabia (92,700).
