The new-generation of Range Rover Sport has finally been revealed after a long wait, with pricing and specifications confirmed for Australia.
The third-generation Range Rover Sport will start from $139,160 before on-road costs for the D250 SE variant and will, at this stage, top out at $198,100 for the plug-in hybrid P510e variant.
Prices are up significantly from the outgoing second-generation Sport model which started at $120,016 for the base D250 SE variant, and launched way back in 2013.
The Range Rover Sport for 2023 will start from $139,160
Prices are also up for the plug-in hybrid version offered in Australia. The outgoing P400e was priced from $141,110 but now the PHEV will cost Australians a whopping $198,100 before on-road costs. This will largely be due to a larger and more powerful 375kW/700Nm six-cylinder engine as well as many new technology advancements since the second-generation version appeared.
The Range Rover Sport has proved to be an enduring model for Land Rover, having sold one million examples since its inception in 2005. Range Rover says that one of its biggest markets is the United States, with one in three of all Sports being sold there.

What powertrains are available for the Range Rover Sport?
Interior for the Sport is minimalist and classy
Kicking off the powertrain line-up is a 3.0-litre 183kW turbo-diesel six-cylinder engine with 600Nm of torque. This engine in this particular tune is available on the D250 variant.
A more powerful version of this 3.0-litre diesel engine found in the D300 features two turbochargers and produces 221kW/650Nm.
The top specification for the diesel range is a 258kW/700Nm version of the 3.0-litre twin-turbo diesel six-cylinder engine.
For the petrol side of things, a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine with 265kW/500Nm is available for the P360 variant.
Although it doesn’t look that different from the outside, the Sport has been updated in many ways
Power goes up once again for the P400 straight-six petrol engine that produces total outputs of 294kW/550Nm.
The next petrol engine adds two cylinders and splits into a V for the P530 variant. This 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 sourced from BMW makes total outputs of 390kW/750Nm.
A plug-in hybrid model will also be available, dubbed the P510e, which will mix a petrol straight-six engine with electricity to produce 375kW/700Nm.

All of the Range Rover Sport’s powertrains are mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and permanent all-wheel drive.
