After two years of deception, the new Range Rover is here. A entirely new vehicle, crammed with technology and elegance, but also committed to engine economy. Not an artistic revolution, but a technological one.
This is the sixth version of the Range Rover, which has been in development for almost two and a half years. Land Rover has recently unveiled a new flagship with a more luxury interior and exterior style.
The new Range Rover 2022 preserves the primary elements of the previous model, with the best Full LED headlights – high resolution digital LEDs in option that offer lighting up to 500 meters – and a slim grille providing the front bumper a fresh aspect. The protection features a stylish metal wall light with thin, discrete LED bars.
The side windows are flush with the body panels, like in previous generations, but the recessed handles in the door panels are new, contributing to a cleaner design and a 0.30x reduction in drag.
A more avant-garde aesthetic that extends to the inside, where everything is digital. The instrument cluster includes a 13.1-inch curved screen, with a 13.7-inch touch screen and haptic in the center console, and wireless car software update capability.
The next Range Rover will be offered with a standard wheelbase and a long LWB body, as seen below. The second is standard in the two wheelbases, while the first and third are optional.
It will be available in four trim levels – SE, HSE and Autobiography – plus the most luxurious and only one configurable with three special environments, “SV Serenity”, “SV Intrepid” and “SV Signature Suite” with four seats with electric adjustment in 24 positions and massage, with and a unique display of space, the new Land Rover model. Externally, the exterior will be painted in contrasting hues, and the inside will be finished with metal, ceramic, wood marquetry, and sustainable leathers.
The Range Rover 2022’s 8 engines include two plug-in hybrids.
The next Range Rover will include electrified engines, including MHEV inline sixes and a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8. The P440e and P510e are next generation plug-in hybrids.
These use a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with an electric motor 105 kW-143 horsepower incorporated into an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The lithium-ion battery has a net capacity of 31.8 kWh and can go 100 km. They can also roll at a maximum speed of 140 km/h in electric mode.
The Range Rover SV will be offered in three trim levels: D350, P530 and P510e plug-in hybrid.
The British have already placed an order for the Range Rover Sport SVR 5.0 P575 with its 575 horsepower and 700 Nm five-liter V8 supercharged engine. The Range Rover Sport’s highest trim level, the Ultimate, is now available with an additional level of luxury equipment. This is made possible via the SV Bespoke department, which is dedicated to fulfilling unique requirements.
The Ultimate Edition’s inside is all leather, with sports seats and contrast stitching, lighted door sills, and black anodized shift paddles on the steering wheel. The unique status is shown by an SV Bespoke emblem on the B-pillar.
