Every Valentine’s Day, people gift chocolates, long-stemmed roses and romantic dinners to their loved ones – but cars, a love in many people’s lives, tend to miss out on the romantic gestures.
To spread the love this Valentine’s Day, carsales asked more than 1000 Aussies to share their thoughts on what they love most about their cars. From dating habits including a cheeky first kiss to car pampering, dream dates and ideal romantic driving holidays, findings include…
Style and comfort are key with 24% of respondents loving the way their car looks and 19% loving how comfortable it is. Smooch or schmooze? Nearly 1 in 3 Aussies have used their car to impress on a first date (31%) and 21% of respondents had their first kiss in a car.
Winery escape on the cards this weekend?42% of Aussies would choose a scenic long drive to a winery or an off-road 4×4 adventure (19%) as their ultimate driving holiday with their loved ones.
Pamper, please! 65% of Aussies pamper their car on a regular basis. While Porsche was the top pick for respondents sharing what car their dream date would drive (12%).
“Cars provide us with great memories, help carry the load and keep us sheltered through rain, hail or shine. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we wanted to find out what Aussies love most about their cars and have a bit of fun in the process,” said carsales General Manager, Customer Advocacy & Research, Deb Heaphy.
“It’s great to see respondents are pampering their cars on a regular basis. What Aussies may not know is that regular maintenance, helps nip mechanical problems in the bud, makes your car safer and more reliable and can even help with fuel efficiency,” continued Heaphy.
For Aussies looking to make the most of the upcoming weekend, it seems that people driving a stylish, clean Porsche on their way to a winery, beach or mountain might be highly sought after. So keep an eye out …
