MG ZS EV Level 2 ADAS Launched: The Evolved E-SUV

MG Motor India launched the ZS EV with Level 2 ADAS at a price of Rs. 27.89 lakh (Ex-Showroom) for a limited time offer. The MG ZS EV’s level 2 ADAS improves the driving experience by providing assistance, control, and comfort in multiple different driving conditions.

The level 2 ADAS on the ZS EV works on three levels: high, medium, and low, with three levels of warning: haptic, audio, and visual. These features take the safety quotient to a whole new level.

Along with that, the MG ZS EV comes with TJA (Traffic Jam Assist) which reduces the stress while driving in bumper to bumper traffic. We also see FCW (Forward Collision Warning) which notifies the driver about possible collisions and will automatically start decelerating if there is no input from them.

Additionally, the ZS EV level 2 ADAS includes SAS (Speed Assist System) to stop the driver from overspeeding, lane functions to prevent the driver from unnecessarily leaving their lane, and ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) which makes the drive more convenient and less hectic. The ACC also maintains a safe distance from the vehicle ahead.

The ZS EV battery has gone through a lot of testing to comply with the latest safety and performance guidelines. Due to this, the battery has increased durability, can provide stable battery operation, and has a better lifespan.

Apart from this, the battery complies with the IP69K norms to come with better dust and water resistance and also meets the UL2580 Safety Management System and the ASIL-D Enhanced Safety Integrity Level rating.

The MG ZS EV comes with 6 charging options such as DC Super-Fast Charging which is available at dealerships, AC Fast Charging which can be installed at homes, plug-and-charge cable onboard, charge-on-the-go with Roadside Assistance, and community chargers.

The MG ZS EV has a 50.3kWh prismatic battery that offers a range of 461km on a single charge. On top of this, the battery comes with a 8 year warranty. Also, the ZS EV has one of the best running costs, at 60 paise for every kilometre travelled.

After some quick calculations, owning the ZS EV results in savings of up to Rs. 4 Lakh over the span of three years when compared to a traditional ICE SUV.

Moving to the exterior of the car, the ZS EV has LED headlamps and LED tail lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, and available in 4 colours: Glaze Red, Aurora Silver, Starry Black, and Candy White. Also, the ZS EV can be availed in three variants: Excite, Exclusive, and Exclusive Pro.

Now, stepping foot inside the car, we see a very comfortable and neat interior. The car has a dual-tone ivory theme and a dark grey accent which can also be seen in the existing models. It also comes with the first in its class rear A/C vent.

Stepping into the MG ZS EV’s powertrain, the electric motor produces 173.5bhp and accelerates from 0-100km/h in 8.5 seconds. Also, the e-SUV comes with three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

The MG ZS EV comes well equipped with tech with more than 75 connected car features, a digital key with the functions of a physical key, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and VR commands to control the sky roof, A/C, Music, and others.

The safety net on the new MG ZS EV includes a 360-degree camera, rear parking sensors, 6 airbags, hill descent control, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), and hill-start assist.

MG’s car ownership program, ‘MG e-SHIELD’ allows the user for combinations of warranty extension, RSA extensions, and maintenance plans at a good price. This proves extremely convenient for the owners as they will not have to break their wallet to keep their car in good condition.
