The MG ZS EV competes with the Hyundai Kona Electric in the Indian electric SUV space.
MG Motor India has launched updated ZS EV facelift. The electric SUV is available in two variants – Excite and Exclusive, at a price of Rs. 21.99 lakh and Rs. 25.99 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
The new ZS EV is based on the MG Astor. The styling is similar to the petrol-powered version except for a few details. The EV gets a blanked-off grille which is flanked by reprofiled headlamps. The rear features redesigned LED tail lights and the car rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, the ZS EV facelift comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 7-inch digital instrument cluster. The outgoing car had an 8-inch head-unit and analogue dials.
Other features offered on the ZS EV facelift include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, 6-airbags, 360-degree camera, blind spot detection, lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert, hill descent control, ESC and TPMS.
Powering the ZS EV is a 50.3 kWh battery and an electric motor with an output of 174 BHP and 353 Nm. The battery is said to offer a maximum range of 461 km on a single charge. MG claims a 0-100 km/h time of 8.5 seconds.
