The all-new 2022 Range Rover arrived in October last year loaded with technology and promising unrivaled luxury. That's especially true of the SV trim, a model that offers such broad scope for personalization and customization that Land Rover claims over 1.6 million unique configurations are possible.
Unfortunately, as cool as the entire range is, it seemed that a hybrid option would not be offered for the 2022 model year. Fortunately, spy shots later proved that the trim would be returning, and now Land Rover has opened the order books for the entire product offering for the first time. If you've been waiting for an opportunity to place an order for either an SV or a PHEV, here it is.
Interestingly, the plug-in hybrid powertrain offers even better efficiency than originally estimated. The P510e and P440e Extended-Range plug-in hybrids provide up to 70 miles of all-electric range on the WLTP cycle, which is a notable increase from the original guess of 62 miles. The powertrain is cleaner too, returning 18 grams of CO2 per kilometer, down from an earlier estimate of “below 30g/km.”
In the real world, Land Rover says that you can expect to cover 54 miles on all-electric power. As an added benefit to the trim, this is one of the few PHEVs around that offers 50-kilowatt DC rapid charging. The result is the ability to recoup 80% charge in under an hour.
The P440e uses a mix of a 3.0-liter six-cylinder Ingenium engine and a 105-kW electric motor to generate a total of 433 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. The P510e uses a similar setup but increases output to 503 hp with 516 lb-ft of torque, enough to complete the 0-60-mph sprint in just 5.3 seconds. And don't worry – the all-electric model is still on the way.
Pricing for the hybrid range starts at £103,485 (roughly $138,600) on the road, while the Range Rover SV starts at £146,200 (approximately $195,800). P530 long-wheelbase models carry a base MSRP of £173,200 (just under $232,000). US market pricing is yet to be revealed, but we don't expect it to differ from these figures by much.
