The Ertiga is currently the sole MPV in the market that offers a factory fitted CNG-kit
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is one of the hottest selling MPVs in the segment that not only offers a safe and comfy cabin but also features a dependable powertrain along with Maruti’s well-known reliability. The brand is now all set to launch the Maruti Ertiga facelift.
The upcoming iteration of the Ertiga has been caught on camera a month before its official launch, thus giving us a brief of what the package might offer. Here is everything you need to know about the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
What’s New On The Ertiga Facelift?
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Facelift is expected to launch in the Indian market soon
Maruti is looking forward to updating and facelifting several models in its portfolio and the Ertiga is part of that plan which is expected to be launched somewhere in March this year with a few subtle changes inside out of the car.
These spy shots courtesy of Autocar India and Gaadiwaadi gives us a rough idea of what the facelift model will look like
Despite the heavy camouflage, you can see that the changes to the exterior are minimal when compared to the current model.
The headlights and the bumpers look similar while the side profile including the alloy wheels too remain similar to what we saw on the present iterations of the MPV.
No major changes have been made to the rear of the Ertiga facelift
Inside, the car may feature some updates and changes but we are yet to get an official confirmation about the same. However, the brand might introduce new upholstery designs, an updated dashboard, and a new infotainment system. Having said that, the Maruti Ertiga will continue to offer a spacious and comfortable cabin to the buyers.
Will We Get An Updated Powertrain?
Under the hood, the 2022 Ertiga facelift is expected to retain the same 1.5-litre, K-Series, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that puts out 105 PS of max power and 138 Nm of peak torque.
This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while an optional automatic gearbox was also on offer. Also, the Eritga is also the only MPV in the domestic market, that offers a factory-fitted CNG kit.
Although, it is believed that the interiors of the upcoming MPV will be significantly different
Having said that, it is worth pointing out that Maruti might introduce a new 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox that will replace the aging 4-speed AT unit.
The manual gearbox however is expected to remain unchanged. The new automatic gearbox will not only improve the performance but will also help transfer power more efficiently. The Indian carmaker may also offer an updated mild-hybrid system with the upcoming Ertiga. Are you excited about the Ertiga facelift? Let us know in the comments below.
