Qualification is open exclusively to AutoShow ticket holders.
The franchise of Forza Motorsport has hoovered many hundreds of dollars from this gearhead’s bank account, thanks to its mixture of hyper-realistic graphics and digital representations of cars, which actually respond to differing weather and track conditions.
In partnership with the spellcheck-vexing WorldGaming Network, people buying a ticket to attend this year’s Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto will get a chance to show off their virtual racing skills. The esports exhibit is nearly double the size of last year’s showcase.
“Esports is the fastest growing feature at the AutoShow and the fastest growing attraction in sports entertainment,” says Jason Campbell, General Manager of the AutoShow. “Hosting the Pfaff Forza Motorsport 7 WorldGaming Network Canadian Challenge driven by Castrol adds another level of excitement to the attraction.”
Qualification is open exclusively to Canadian International AutoShow ticket holders and is spread across eight single-day Qualifying Periods, each featuring a different track/car combination. Players can submit their lap times by visiting the Forza Motorsport 7 Canadian Challenge booth and the competitor with the fastest lap time from each Qualifying Period will move on to the Grand Finals. There will be eight of those racers in total, plus eight more from a series of Closed Online Qualifiers.
All sixteen finalists (eight from the Online Qualifier and eight from the Live Qualifiers) will determine the final results of the Pfaff Forza Motorsport 7 Canadian Challenge tournament. This lot of sixteen will then be assigned to one of two semi-final heats, based on their qualifying results.
Each semi-final heat will race on several pre-selected tracks, with points assigned to competitors based on the final results of each individual race. The four competitors with the most points from each semi heat (eight in total) will qualify for the big-daddy championship race, which will follow the same race/points structure as the Semifinal heats.
Open Live Qualifiers will run from February 15-22, 2019 in the Forza Motorsport 7 Canadian Challenge booth at Canadian International Auto Show, with the top finalists competing live at the show on February 24, 2019.
The tournament is open to legal residents of Canada who are over the age of 14. All players must have an Xbox One console or Windows 10 PC, an Xbox One or Microsoft Windows copy of Forza Motorsport 7, and an active Xbox Live Gold account before the tournament begins in order to participate. Competitors can visit [WorldGaming.com/Forza7CC] for more information or to register.
