2022 Mercedes-AMG One: What is it?
It's the pinnacle of what Mercedes-AMG is capable of. It's a road car called the One, which will feature engine and aerodynamics technology taken directly from Lewis Hamilton's F1 car.
We had previously seen the One in full camo at The Ring during testing, but these pictures show the car without any camo.
That Ring car had its front vents and rear wing in full attack mode, but here we can see how the car will look in its road settings, its wing retracted. It's interesting that the driver is still wearing a helmet in these shots, mind.
2022 Mercedes-AMG One: What is it powered by?
You know your old Ford Focus has a 1.6-litre petrol? Well so does this. Sort of.
But this one is a V6 that spins to 11,000rpm from an F1 car, with four electric motors that via hybrid assist help it produce more than 1000hp. Not like your Focus then.
It's the same sort of tech that Mercedes has use to win multiple F1 championships, and will be combined with active aerodynamics to make the One devastatingly quick on track.
As you can see in this next picture, a G 63 is having a real job keeping up with it. Maybe.
2022 Mercedes-AMG One: When will it be on sale?
There’s no official on-sale date for the Mercedes-AMG One, but we expect it to officially hit the road later in 2021.
2022 Mercedes-AMG One: How much will it cost
If you have to ask… Each Mercedes-AMG One has set its owner back at least £2.06 million, that’s before options or any form of personalisation. Just 275 examples will be built, with all already spoken for.
This car will serve as a performance and technology flagship as the AMG brand transitions to a hybrid future.
