Mercedes-Benz South Africa has a busy and exciting year ahead as they launch Mercedes-EQ and along with the brand, five vehicles to the South African market in 2022.
36 dealerships around the country will support retail and servicing operations and Grid Cars have joined Mercedes-Benz as partners in this venture with their ever-growing infrastructure supporting the charging requirements of these fully-electric vehicles.
The models due to be introduced to our market over the next year are as follows;
The EQA is a sport SUV that looks suspiciously similar to the GLA, has a power output of 140 kW and a range of up to 412 km in EQA 250 guise.
Mercedes-Benz EQA
Next in line is the EQB, which looks a lot like a dollied-up GLB, because it is. The SUV will be available with up to 7 seats and will be available locally in EQB 350 4Matic guise, offering up 215 kW and up to 419 km on a single charge.
Mercedes-Benz EQB
The first fully electric EQ model to be produced by Mercedes-Benz, the EQC signalled the start of Mercedes-Benz’s journey towards an all-electric future. The EQC’s all-wheel drive platform outputs 300 kW and a range of up to 437 km.

With dimensions that exceed those of today’s E-Class, the EQE offers all of the flagship EQS’ essential functions in a more compact form.
Mercedes-Benz EQE
Based on a new vehicle architecture which fuses technology, design, functionality and connectivity, the EQS offers a range of up to 780 km, and an output of up to 385 kW. It also holds the the title as the world’s most aerodynamic production car. Locally, the EQS 450+ will be introduced initially with an output of 245 kW.
